Anointing the Sick

The sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is a special momebt of prayer for strength and healing, and a chance to realize that we are never alone in our suffering. 

The sacrament can be received by appointment, especially if someone is preparing for surgery or dealing with the onset of any type of serious suffering. It is also celebrated in church in an annual liturgy on the "World Day of Prayer for the Sick," in February.
