Position: Business Support Clerk Location: London North Central Catholic Family of Parishes, 511 Cheapside Street, London, ON Commitment: Full-time (35 hours per week Monday to Friday) Compensation: Wage will be based on experience and in accordance with Diocesan policies. This position is eligible for participation in the DOL’s lay benefit plan and pension program. Posting Date: May 22, 2025 Closing Date: May 29, 2025 POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Business Manager, the Business Support Clerk provides administrative office support to the family of parishes in compliance with related legislation, regulations and/or diocesan policies.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Provides face-to-face and telephone support to parishioners, vendors, contractors, and visitors to the parish.
Coordinates the parish outlook calendars for recurring meetings, events, liturgical celebrations, appointments and facility usage.
Manages the parish emails by reading, responding, forwarding and deleting, as required.
Processes mass intention requests and reconciles mass stipend payments and office deposits. Ensures sufficient inventory of mass cards.
Assists in the planning and coordination of funerals. Acts as liaison with funeral homes for planned receptions.
Handles requests for sacramental certificates.
Manages, monitors and orders materials and supplies, including liturgical/sacramental program supplies.
Oversees the maintenance contracts for office business machines.
Provides information, prepares reports and procedures, and maintains electronic and paper-based files.
Processes entries for offertory and donations in DDMS as needed.
Coordinates the weekly bulletin as needed.
Other duties of a similar nature as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Diploma or degree in a related field of study.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional business environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
A team player who is adaptable, proactive, and resourceful in solving problems.
Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues, clergy, and external parties.
Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of highly sensitive materials.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Canva), comfortable working with database systems and document management systems.
Professional representative of the Diocese of London at all times with an understanding of and desire to support and promote the mission of the Diocese of London.
A police record check as deemed suitable by the Diocese of London will be required of the successful candidate.
