POSITION TITLE: Diocesan Family and Youth Ministry Specialist

SUMMARY:Develop initiatives and strategies to support the diocesan community evangelize and catechize families, form them as domestic churches and respond to their growing and complex pastoral needs. Promote and support the Diocesan Vision of Youth Ministry within all parishes of the Diocese of London.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In light of the Diocesan Pastoral Plan and the (Task Force for the Reorganization of the Parishes in the Diocese of London), develop a five-year strategic plan for Family and Youth Ministry
- Educate Pastoral Teams on the best practices associated with nurturing the domestic church and the vision of Youth Ministry
- Coordinate faith experiences for families and youth at a diocesan level
- Assist the Director of Lay Ecclesial Ministry in dealing with personnel issues involving those serving the domestic church and/or Youth Ministry
- Coordinate and supervise initial formation opportunity for Family and Youth Ministry Certificate
- Liaison with parish and school staff on matters related to forming the domestic church and youth ministry
- Liaise with Director of Lay Ecclesial Ministry to develop and implement ongoing formation opportunities
- Support Coordinators of Family and Youth Ministry as they undertake new responsibilities of ministry in the Family of Parishes model
- Research and development in the area of the domestic church and Youth Ministry
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Prefer Degree in Theology, or pertinent related field
EXPERIENCE: Minimum five years experience in a pastoral setting
SKILLS: Superior communication and facilitation skills. Prefer fluency in both English and French
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS:
SUPERVISED BY: Director of Pastoral Services
SUPERVISES: Oversight but no supervisory duties
