Position: Part-Time Financial Secretary
Work Location: Windsor Lake St. Clair Catholic Family of Parishes – St. Simon & St. Jude Parish, 488 St. Charles Steet, Belle River, ON
Commitment: 8-12 hours per week – flexibility required due to business needs

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Business Manager, the part-time Financial Secretary is responsible for the general bookkeeping duties for the parish and parish hall.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:- Maintains financial books, records and accounts for the parish and parish hall utilizing Business Vision
- Prepares all financial documents and reports for the parish and parish hall
- Prepares the annual Charity Return
- Prepares and issues charitable donation receipts
- Prepares Year End reports as required by the Diocese of London
- Prepares cheques for the parish and parish hall
- Ensures all weekly envelope contributions are posted in Diocesan Data Management System (DDMS)
- Prepares the schedules for the collection counters
- Ensures collection counter procedures are followed
- Other duties of a similar nature as assigned by the Business Manager
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:- Minimum 5 years experience as a bookkeeper
- College diploma in Business/Finance or equivalent work experience
- Prior experience working with Business Visions considered an asset
- Competent computer skills in various programs including Word and Excel are required
- Professional, self-motivated, strong work ethic, high level of integrity
- Reliable transportation required as the church is not on a bus line
A police record check as deemed suitable by the Diocese of London will be required of the successful candidate.
