Position: Coordinator of Youth, Family and Sacraments
Work Location: Perth Huron Crossroads CFoP, St. Patrick Church, 81 Mill Street, Dublin
Commitment: 15 hours per week – hours will include weekends and/or evenings
Compensation: Wage in accordance with DOL personnel policies. 4% vacation pay as per ESA.

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Pastor, and working collaboratively with the pastoral team, the Coordinator of Youth, Family and Sacraments supports the catechetical, sacramental, and community life of the Perth Huron Catholic Family of Parishes. This position creates, facilitates and supports initiatives to increase interest and involvement of the community’s youth.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Ministers to youth and families through programming and activities to help strengthen the spiritual life of the parish
Recruits and empowers volunteers to support ministry initiatives in the Family of Parishes.
Plans and facilities age-appropriate sacramental preparation programming for First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation.
Engages young people and their families in the life, mission and ministry of the Church.
Other assignments, duties and projects of a similar nature as assigned to support the mission of the Family of Parishes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
A Degree in Theology or Catechesis or a Certificate in Pastoral or Youth Ministry or completion of a program deemed equivalent by the Diocese of London and/or a willingness to obtain an aforementioned qualification.
Minimum of Ontario Grade 12 Diploma, GED or equivalent.
Must be an active practicing Catholic, a Pastor’s letter of recommendation is required.
Good working knowledge of the evangelizing mission of the Diocese of London.
Knowledge of and prior experience in the sacramental preparation process.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written and oral communication skills.
Familiarity with social media platforms for coordinating outreach.
Ability to remain professional and maintain confidentiality.
Experience using, and competence in, Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Access). Prior experience working with databases is needed.
Willingness and ability to work flexible hours as agreed upon by the Pastor to support pastoral needs of parishioners of all ages and the pastoral initiatives of the Family of Parishes.
A valid driver’s license and use of a reliable vehicle.
A police record check as deemed suitable by the Diocese of London will be required as a condition of employments of the successful candidate.
