The Lake Huron Catholic Family of Parishes is seeking proposals for contract services for a Music Director at St. Peter Catholic Church in Goderich, Ontario.
The Music Director will ensure appropriate musical selections for weekend masses, seasonal liturgical celebrations, as well as some funerals and weddings. The Music Director will be responsible for creating a prayerful atmosphere with liturgical music and singing which supports the scriptural message of the week.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS and EXPECTATIONS:- Plan, implement and participate in all aspects of liturgical music for weekend and seasonal celebrations, weddings and funerals reflecting a variety of liturgical music types – traditional to contemporary
- Conduct the weekend / seasonal choir rehearsals and facilitate music for weekend mass and/or liturgical services.
- Supervise and direct instrumentalists, cantors and choir members, play piano/organ during masses and celebrations as required
- Assist in recruiting new choir members and maintain an accurate contact list of all choir members
- Work cooperatively with the pastor and parish staff
- Maintain a positive attitude and exhibit professional behaviours reflective of a representative of the family of parishes in all interactions with clergy, parishioners, staff and/or the community
- Assist in the planning of the liturgical calendar in conjunction with the pastor and the liturgy committee
- Provider will invoice for payment on at least a monthly basis for services as to be outlined in the service contract
- Provider will be responsible for personal transportation and costs associated therein
- A police record check as deemed suitable by the Diocese of London will be required of the successful Provider (prior to contract finalization) and any person(s) proposed to provide services for the Provider.
- Qualifications, including educational background and direct experience for person(s) proposed to provide services
- Proposal must outline how requirements and expectations listed will be met
- Expected renumeration
