The Diocese of London is sharing something interesting on behalf of Deacon Tony Hogervorst, our diocesan Migrant Worker Ministry Specialist:
"Please take the time to watch this excellent video, https://www.hortcouncil.ca/en/heartbeat which points at the positive outcomes of workers coming from regions/situations without opportunity to work, to fill agricultural laborer positions here in Canada.
"It is very positive and hopeful. Some might argue that it is one-sided, not balanced, but from my perspective, it shows the justification for 'importing' seasonal laborers, to fill a specific need, benefiting the 'host' country as well as the 'donor' country.
"The need for this program is clear, as are the benefits to the visiting worker, and the farmer in need of willing laborers, and the communities in which each of them live."
