Graves
A grave is an in-ground space for full casket burial and/or cremated remains. Our cemeteries offer a variety of sizes from single graves to family estate lots. The cost of the grave includes the perpetual care and maintenance of the space. Graves are pre-designated as “Flat Marker” or “Upright Monument (headstone)” spaces.

Burial Vaults
Burial vaults are most commonly made of concrete and it is a container which houses a casket or an urn when it is buried in the ground. The burial vault is placed in the grave, the casket or urn is lowered into the vault and a lid is placed on top of the vault before the grave is covered. The burial vault is strongly recommended because it protects a casket or an urn from the earth and prevents the grave from sinking in.

CremationCremation is the process by which the body of the deceased is reduced to its basic elements by rising fire and heat. The Catholic Church has permitted cremation since 1964. Once cremation has been chosen the Order of Christian Funerals must still be followed. When a body is cremated, the ashes must be treated with respect and must not be divided, scattered or kept at home. The ashes must be buried or entombed according to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Cremation services are offered at Heavenly Rest Cemetery in LaSalle and Resurrection Cemetery in Sarnia.

Cremation urns are permanent containers for a body which has been cremated. The selection of the urn is very important since the urn provides a dignified vessel for the cremated remains.
