Co-Ordinator of Property and Maintenance - Part-Time
Position: Co-Ordinator of Property and Maintenance Family of Parishes: Catholic Family of Parishes in Norfolk Locations: St. Mary’s – 211 Union Street, Simcoe St. Cecilia’s – 17 Lynn Park Avenue, Port Dover St. Bernard’s – 165 Thompson Road, Waterford Our Lady, Queen of Martyr’s – 110 Adams Avenue, Delhi
Commitment: 10 hours a week, including weekends and evenings Posting Date: April 2023 Closing Date: May 15, 2023 POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Pastor of the Family of Parishes in Norfolk, the Coordinator of Property and Maintenance manages and oversees the timely maintenance and upkeep of all properties of the Catholic Family of Parishes in Norfolk. The Co-Ordinator of Property and Maintenance directly supervises and supports the Family of Parishes in Norfolk Custodians.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Supervises, assists and supports the Custodians in each Parish, ensuring timely communications and updates between the custodians, the Administration Manager and the Pastor.
Ensures custodial staff have the proper training, personal protective equipment and supplies to complete work tasks and ensure ongoing compliance with health and safety legislation, Diocese of London policies and the expectations of the Family of Parishes.
Ensures that the properties are clean and well maintained at all times. This includes, but is not limited to, oversight for: lawn maintenance, snow removal, ongoing regular and preventative maintenance, repairs through contractors (HVAC, elevator, fire extinguishers).
Prepares capital project request for proposals.
Coordinates, plans, implements and supervises the completion of capital projects as approved by the Property and Finance Committee and/or the Diocese’s Construction and Restoration Manager.
Establishes, communicates and ensures compliance with purchasing procedures for the Family of Parishes.
Prepares and/or collects and submits required reports in a timely manner as required by the Diocesan Center.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of post-secondary degree and/or diploma in Property Administration or a related field of study.
Prior experience in a supervisory or management role in property administration.
Thorough understanding of Ontario’s health and safety regulations and requirements.
Effective and strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills and highly developed organizational skills are required.
Knowledge and experience using various computer programs including programs within Microsoft Office is required.
Prior experience delegating to and working with volunteers is an asset.
Understanding of and a supportive attitude towards the mission of the Roman Catholic Diocese of London is necessary.
