POSITION TITLE: Youth Engagement Coordinator (Seasonal Full Time) - Diocesan Centre, London
POSITION SUMMARY: Primarily responsible for developing and presenting youth activities, events, and initiatives.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leading and coordinating the summer Youth Engagement Team, and volunteers
- With the Youth Engagement Team, organizes activities and events to engage young people throughout the Diocese of London; be prepared to offer programming in-person and online
- Partner engagement of vetted community organizations and the department of Youth, Young Adult, and Family Ministry; working closely with the Family and Youth Ministry Specialist
- Organize thematic programming for young people, facilitated virtually, that promote balanced, healthy living: care of mind, body, soul, that reflect the values of the Catholic faith
- Oversees activities and events to engage young people throughout the Diocese of London; be prepared to offer programming in-person and online
- Participates in training of parish staff, key volunteers, and emerging youth leaders as needed
- Contributes content for online marketing and communications
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Degree in human services, community development and change, recreation, social services, or equivalent (preferred).
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 1 year experience coordinating programs for young people
- French language and experience working with culturally diverse people are assets
- Knowledgeable in community development
- Passionate about forming relationships with young people and families who attend programs
- Strong understanding of online platforms, notably Zoom

WORK LOCATION: Work locations available in London, Ontario or Windsor, Ontario. There is a possibility for remote work with some travel within Southwestern Ontario.
REPORTS TO: Pastoral Services Coordinator
NOTE: This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. It is a seasonal 8 week position. Applicants must be between 15-30 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada
COMPENSATION: $17.00 hourly for 35 hours per week
